[this is my first poll, hope it works!]
Somebody was heartily impressed today when they announced they have had their current email address for 4 years. I hated to deflate her, but she asked, so I mentioned I'd have mine for 8, going on 9 years. (my domain name reg is oddly dated 1 year after I actually registered it, a bizarre change when I switched registrars.)
Made me curious how long y'all have had your current longest-held email address.

How long has sidehack been around? Eight years? Maybe longer?
mute@wpi.edu is back, though. I suppose that would put me at 13 years.

I answered 7 because I've had my current primary address for 6 or 7 years.
My first email address ever is active now, but it wasn't for several years... uh:
sept 1990: my school account becomes active. I get email that month.
march 1991: I actually log in for the first time. I read and reply to the email that was sent to me in september, not realizing it's been there for months.
1997ish: I cancel the account, because all it got was spam.
2002: I reactivate the account, because I'm using some alumni job search thingy that requires the login.
So that might or might not be 12 years. |
