|05:21 pm - Vroom... Yikes, RAIN!|
For the first time, I got rained on while heading home on the bike. It was revealing where I got wet, and which parts stayed dry. Lower legs, all the way up to just before the knees, then from knees up on the outside. Got to get some real moto boots at some point. When you've got some good speed going, your back is bone dry even in a quick downpour. I totally understand chaps now! Not that I'll be getting some anytime soon.
I need to get a serious leather jacket. My synthetic jacket was OK for keeping me dry, but I wasn't out in the rain that long. I wouldn't want to get caught out for an hour or so in it. Jeans = hypothermia. Maybe have to look at some pants too.
Interesting to feel the terrain change in the rain.
Current Mood: Damp but Happy.
Wow, I didn't know you had a bike! What kind is it? Details, details, I love this crap!

Like half my posts are about my bike! You noob!
It is a 2001 Suzuki SV650S. Pretty much stock, except for Bar Risers, Custom Seat, and a very small tank bag.
This is my 3rd bike. My first bike ever was back in high school, a 1980 Honda CM400A. Got me to and from work in good weather.
My second was a '97 BMW F650. Sold it when I got the Suzuki in '02. It was good, but a dual sport thumper didn't suit my needs as well as a street bike.
The Suzuki is great, but I don't think it will be my last bike. Once I get another stable fulltime job, I think I'm going to trade it in towards a liter standard or naked sport. I like the Aprilia Tuono's ergos but not pricetag. I like the Kawa Z1000 looks and price but not the ergos. Best Ergos for me are on the Honda 919, but its a little too naked for my taste. I hear they're gonna come out with some mini-fairings and mods. We'll see how they come out. (I like enough fairing to keep the wind off a tank bag.)
I've only put about 1500 miles on the suzuki so far. The warmer it gets, the more I ride. Need to start doing pushups in the morning to increase my arm muscles, although the bar risers took a TON of pain off my back and arms.
Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across as not reading your posts! Sometimes things just go over my head!
I need to read more on bikes, I know a bit about cars, but I'm sort of bike-illiterate... Maybe then we can bike talk more!

haha. Don't worry, there won't be a quiz after! Plus, I tag my motorcycle entries with a different icon, so it would have been easy to miss them or thing I was somebody else.
Bikes are wicked fun. If you're interested in learning to ride, there's a great course that includes time on a bike, and you don't need a bike or a helmet or anything. (just some money!)
Thanks, I'll check it out!

Re: Get a real jacket and pants!!
Leathers are definitely superior to denim, and by far. I do have some synthetic pants, but there are just too damn hot for summer riding. In the colder weather they're not bad.
I'd like to find some leather pants that aren' too uncomfortable. The jacket I know I can find, eventually.
