|05:26 pm - Medical Update:|
Well, I saw the EENT doctor today, and he did a very scary thing with a Sinuscope that belongs in a Steven King movie.
It appears all of the various sinus and cold issues I've had over the past few years are attributable to one very clear problem. I have a deviated septum.
I have a Cat scan scheduled for next tuesday, then I go back to him a week after that and we talk about surgical options.
Apparently, I COULD skip the surgery, and just continue to live with the constant problems. As if thats a reasonable option. hah.
I'm thinking of going for Total Head Replacement at this point
I could probably get the insurance company to sign off on it.
Current Mood: Broken
I had also had a deviated septum that caused me to suffer with years of sinus infections and other problems...I had the surgery about 10 years ago and have had only one sinus infection since.
To me, it was worth the one week of discomfort.

The EENT doc also made the very important point that if I'm about to go for something very serious like a CI, that it would be best to make sure everything else up there is functioning fine and not prone to infections, etc.
2 More weeks and I guess its a go.
I got the surgery. The week after was miserable (I actually lost about 15 pounds), but the results are worth it.
